Red stains on carpets can be quite a challenge to clean. These types of stains fall under two separate categories. These are manmade and natural. Natural red stains come from wine or other plant based products. Man made dyes or colorants are in everything from medicine to food.
The best way to proceed when you find you have a red stain on your carpet is to ask “where did it come from” and “what type of stain is it”? It is best to proceed slowly with these types of spots. If the wrong cleaning product is used you may be locking in your problem.
If you find you have a natural red stain and good process is to use a white microfiber towel and a mixture of 3 parts water to one part 2% hydrogen peroxide. Mist the area and allow the solution to penetrate the stain for 15 minutes. Blot the area with the microfiber cloth and see if the red is transferring to the towel. You may have to repeat this process 2 to 3 times.
With a man made stain you can attempt a Resolve type product. Follow label directions and don’t over wet the area. If you are not seeing results do not attempt more than once.
If you find the area is not responding a call to a carpet cleaning professional is needed. We at Deep Clean Carpet Cleaning in Blaine Minnesota can bring another level of products and expertise to help take care of your red stain.
